Phonak Dome lodged in ear canal

I did it again
Except a power dome was in for about 3 weeks.

I went in saying my ear was sore. Well right ear had two domes in

This isn’t a problem with custom tips.

I have quite the story about the first time I lost a dome in my ear… It involves backpacking in the Dolomites in Italy, asking a random stranger on the trail to look in my ear while his 9 year old translated for us, then a note written in Italian explaining what was going on to any future good samaritans, then a ride down the mountain in a smashed up Mercedes driven by a one armed man already one drink into the day at 10am, and ending in a small town pharmacy where after much consultation one of the pharmacists extracted it. Subsequent episodes have been much less dramatic!

Phonak dome came off in 1 ear. MD thought it was a wax buildup and tried using a power washer before referring me off to an ENT. The ENT actually booked me into the hospital for the procedure and found the dome.

Wow.

My hearing aid specialist took the dome out same day I called him. I had an ear ache. It had been about 3 weeks andi don’t know why I didn’t figure it out. Domes suck. I had good advice here but I was stubborn.

I’ve done that myself. Power Domes. I wouldn’t try with closed domes

It’s a long time later. I finally listened @Neville and others here

I have moulded inserts now. I should have done it years ago.
Hope someone. Does that and switches. They are much much better.
