Phonak Naida L90 UP Bluetooth and Noise Reduction issues

1. If sound is streaming okay, then the Bluetooth Classic pairing is good. If the app is only detecting one hearing aid, then perhaps the LE pairing did not go through completely. Forgetting the devices in the app and then re-pairing would be my first idea.
2. It sounds like instead of the custom program being static i.e. unchanging, there may be some general adaptive features occurring within the base AutoSense program (Calm Situation, Speech In Noise, etc.). I think the best bet would be having a separate prescriptive manual program added and deactivating automatic features from there.
3. When audio streaming starts, it is common for there to be a little hiss before the actual audio starts. Additionally, streaming programs are available to be adjusted in your fitting software, and there is a specific place where the microphone level can be reduced for when streaming is activated.

Thank you I was able to solve #1 eventually by deleting and re installing the app. It sounds like the other two may need adjusted at the audiologist. I'm getting great sound and the ability to reduce background noise is the best I've had in a long time (switching from Oticons but I have had Phonak in the past) so I'd really like to make these work, but the number of app/bluetooth/setting issues already has me nervous. I am struggling with the custom settings. It seems that I will create one, and then when I go to use it, the background noise comes in and out, and so does my own voice and the person next to me. I have the noise reduction the highest it will allow, the speech focus narrow, and yet it's still coming in and out like it does in the automatic program when it constant adjusts for everything (water running, AC clicking on, a car going by--which, incidentally, I hate. I'm confused as to why the custom programs are also doing this automatic adjusting.
When bluetooth mode kicks in (anytime I open literally any app on my phone that has a sound component, whether I have the sound on or not) it draws in ALLL the background noise with it which makes no sense to me. Hence, why I am going in each time to change the slider to counteract this, until today when it is not working.
As I said, aids are new and the app is the most current. I have an appt but it's not until next week. My audiologist is not a fan of Phonak for this very reason, stuff like this and very little actual help from Phonak support. However, the ability to block out that background noise and make custom programs to help with speech recognition is very attractive to me, plus I feel the clarity overall is better. So I am hoping to figure out these problems!! I have profound hearing loss and definitely am a I candidate for CI, but just not there yet. On a completely unrelated note, I've also been trying out a few different online platforms lately, including https://mostbetbd.asia/promo/bonus/, just to compare how their apps and interfaces work.

Since the hearing aids are brand new and everything was working normally before these problems appeared, I’d be reluctant to assume that you simply have the settings wrong. The Bluetooth behavior in particular sounds like something worth having the audiologist check rather than spending hours trying random changes in the app.

For the right aid becoming unavailable while the left one still works, I’d first try the simple connection reset: completely close the myPhonak app, turn Bluetooth off and back on, and restart the phone and hearing aids. If that doesn't restore independent control of both aids, I’d avoid repeatedly unpairing and re-pairing everything unless your audiologist recommends it. With hearing aids, there are several different connections involved, and wiping everything can sometimes create more work without fixing the underlying problem.

The automatic changes you're hearing in your custom program are also worth discussing at the fitting appointment. A custom program doesn't necessarily mean that every automatic processing feature has been completely disabled. Noise reduction, directionality, speech enhancement and other processing can still operate depending on how the program was created. If you're specifically trying to maintain a consistent sound environment, I'd ask the audiologist to demonstrate exactly which processing features are active in each program rather than judging the program only by the sliders shown in the app.

Just checking. You said something like "Both aids are connected to the App AND to the phone"?

Only one aid should be paired for streaming.
