Hi Dave, Ken here, I used to have a Compilot with my old Audio B’s that worked great, even connected to the house phone, since now I have the Paradise 70, all that had disappeared, better tech, but not always better for us, I must say the the P70’s have made my hearing and understanding way much better than the Audio B’s, I do have Tcoil on these that initially came in handy in the beginning, so after 2.5 years I have just gradually switch all phone calls to my cell, I could connect to the old TV link but the audio delay was bad, now using the newer TVlink so I just adjusted, When I upgrade in a year or 2, it’s probably going to be another test of patience, I do use the App quite a bit for particular setting, like being outside with next door lawn mores and such, the custom programs enables me to just take them out. LOL

@DaveL the MyPhonak app should work with the Paradise. Turn your ’s off and on to put them in pairing mode and then start the app on your phone and follow the instructions on screen.
If you have an older Phonak remote then it will not work with the Paradise. You need the newer model.

Hi Ken. My first two pair of Phonaks had compilots. My Audeo Paradise P90Rs have a remote control. That’s what I’m trying to pair to the P90R hearing aids.
Thanks
Dave

I didn’t know that you could have a remote with the paradise, goes to show… Can’t help you there, good luck.

It used to work
I wanted to try it again. Put a new 2032 battery in. I can’t pair it. I have the manual for the remote control.
I have myPhonak installed on my iPhone.
I’m not doing well.

@DaveL You have to be sure that you just turned your ’s on so that they are in pairing mode. Whilst holding the + button on the remote, switch it on. The light will turn blue and you can let go of the + button. You need to put the remote very close to your hearing aids and you will hear a beep in each ear as it connects.

The remote control won’t connect to the is your HAs are connected to My Phonak app. You will have to disconnect from My Phonak app or turn off on your phone. The reason was explained to me as follows:
There’s actually two different Bluetooth connections to your Phonak hearing aids. One for control, one for audio. That’s the two you can have active at any given time(active meaning either you actively have them connected to the app or there’s actively audio/calls streaming.
So in the case of the Remote Control, it’s taking up that active spot for the control connection. Look at your Bluetooth pairing list on your phone. You’ll actually find two pairings there. One for control, one for audio. Hope that explains it. Even in the case of trying to program them, Phonak Target won’t connect if you’re using the control interface some other way(connected to the app or remote).

myPhonak works. I find myself turning my phone on several times a day trying to hear better.
My Paradise P90R are adequate. Barely

Dave, to summarize … once paired, you can use either your Phonak Remote or the MyPhonak app to control your aids, but only one of those at any instant in time. So, with the Remote turned on and near your aids, the aids will not allow the app to open and connect. To use the app, you would have to turn off the remote first.
Likewise, if the app has been used (even if it is not the currently the app in use), the remote will not control the aids if turned on (or allow pairing). To use the remote, you would have to Quit the app first by swiping the app image upwards in the iPhone’s App Switcher. On newer iPhones, you can get to the App Switcher from a home screen by slowly swiping upwards from the very bottom of the screen up to the middle of the screen.
Also, if you plan to use the remote that you used with your previous aids, you will have to “reset” it to remove the previous pairing data … or buy a second remote. To reset the remote, first power it on. Then, press the volume up “+” button and the program change button for more than 10 seconds. Only then can you pair the remote with the new aids.
Hope that helps.

Thanks. It does help
The Remote Control was given to me by the dispensing audiologist. CVA. He had encouraged me to make changes using the APP and he kindly offered to me to incorporate those changes in my hearing aids next visit.
I truly appreciated his kindness. 8 did about 8 or so sleep tests
However after a year and a half he fired me suggesting I find someone who could help me more than he could
I’ve used hearing aids for about 25 years

I got my Infinio Spheres today and could not pair them with a PhonakRemote that I had. Then I found this at the Phonak Knowledge Base: “Some older RemoteControl devices are not compatible with Infinio hearing aids (including Audéo R Infinio & , Audéo Sphere Infinio, and Virto R Infinio). If you have these hearing aids and are experiencing issues connecting them to your RemoteControl, please reach out to your hearing care professional for assistance.” Just for fun, I plan to “reach out” at my next visit, just to see what is said!
BTW, the new aids work fine with the MyPhonak app on my iPhone, and streaming music now sounds much better. Got a more solid Bluetooth connection also!!
