Thank you all for your help.
I have a spare, I bought it reconditioned from eBay. The first thing I did was replace it with the spare, and the spare worked fine. At the end of the gig, I put the original in and it still didin’t work.
I just called the store that I bought it from, and the rep said to hook it up, turn it off and on again and see if that works. IT DID!!!
I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. There is a “little computer” inside, reboot it.
I carry spare cables, too. When it went, it didn’t sound like cable static, it was more of a semi-regular pattern. In the music biz, the mantra is this: It’s always the cable.
I keep a spare cable for everything I gig with, pluse spare strings, spare reeds, spare batteries, a spare wind synthesizer which can also cover sax and lead guitar parts, plus a second computer on stage booted up at all times for our backing tracks (which I make myself) in case one crashes - the show goes on.
I have a gig tomorrow, I’ll use it and keep the spare handy.
Thanks again for your help.
