Thank you Rick… For years, I thought, I was speaking fairly normal, but apparently, I was talking just above a whisper… For me, I think my custom moulds or molds to our American cousins, have a lot to do with my voice sounding loud, mine have no vents whatsoever, I have recently changed my moulds, to hard acrylic full skeleton moulds (I am allergic to silicone) these were made specifically for me, a lot of time was taken with the impressions, certain areas were scalloped out, areas that gave me pressure sores in the past, Starkey Mould Lab UK did a wonderful job making them fit, a first for me, in getting moulds to fit first time, and no alterations were needed, Starkey also were consulted on the process, and very helpful with advice. The plan was to make them up in hard acrylic, get them fitting perfectly, Starkey would then have them made up in silicone via a 3D scan of the acrylic version, then they were to be gold plated @ £200+ each, although silicone is denser and more suited to my loss, I love these moulds, they fit perfectly, and they are ultra comfortable, so I decided to forgo the gold plated version, it wasn’t about the money, it was all to do with the comfort… Subconsciously, I believe we adapt, I also occasionally consult my wife to find out my level of voice, and try to memorise that level of talking, I do still believe, I speak too quietly, but perhaps not as bad as I once was? Cheers Kev
