Interesting. The Resound ONE advertises a battery life of 30 hours and 25 streaming (they use LE Bluetooth). Phonak’s total rechargeable battery life is: 24 hours. There’s no mention of how much streaming life it has. But I imagine with regular Bluetooth, the drop is significant.
A friend of mine who works at Resound says that after 5 years, the Resound would decrease to 25 hours total battery life.
The Phonak website says the hearing aid has been tested to last five years. Not sure what that means as I assume even at five years, there’d be 19 hours of battery life (without streaming).
I wonder if this is due to Phonak using a smaller and/or less optimized battery. Or if their use of classic Bluetooth plays into this. But the figures given by Phonak do not include streaming, at least to my knowledge.
I know the Resound ONE rechargeable makes it larger than the version that uses a size 13 battery. Not sure if the Phonak rechargeable is larger than their size 13 battery version.
A comparison in size could be made with the Resound ONE and Costco Kirkland 10 (which only comes in rechargeable) as this version of Costco’s hearing aid is based on Phonak Paradise I believe).
Anyone notice a difference?
