I currently wear phonak infinio ultra sphere 90 hearing aids And have been purchasing models of phonak hearing aids for the past 8 to 10 years and programming them myself. I use the version 12.0.2 of Target software and I have a question about using an versus audiogram direct for programming purposes.
For the past three models of phonak hearing aids, I have not provided initial information for programming a first fit with a real audiogram from an audiologist. Instead, I've been performing my own audiogram using the internal audiogram direct facility on Target. Over the recent years, I've been very pleased with my own programming and adjustments of frequency curves using audiogram direct. But now I'm wondering whether the actual real life difference between using a legitimate audio brand instead of audiogram direct as the sourcing for hearing loss. I've read recently that first fit inputs should only be sourced from a real audiogram from an audiologist. In the past from my experience, making my own audiogram direct has produced results that are very similar to my actual authentic audiograms sourced from an audiologist. Does anyone reading this note have experience in this regard?
