Renewing Hearing Aids – Concern About Calibration After Mastoid Surgery
I’m in the process of renewing my hearing aids, and my audiologist has told me that due to a mastoid surgery I had many years ago, a Real Ear Measurement (REM) can’t be performed when the new aids are fitted.
This concerns me because I’ll be spending a lot of money, and I want the hearing aids to be properly fitted and customised to my needs.
Has anyone else experienced this situation? Can high-quality fitting still be achieved without REM, and are there any alternatives or suggestions I should consider?
Thanks in advance for any advice.U
