Replacing your sports lock

Hi there, I’m curious to hear how often people replace their sports lock on their ? They’ve been a game-changer for me, finally the HAs stay put! Although I’ve noticed them slipping again in the last few days, since my Audi changed my domes. So I’m unsure if it’s the new domes not fitting so well, or my sports locks losing their oomph (but I only fitted them a few weeks ago)? What’s a normal sports lock life-span?

They should last at least 6 months, it could be that they have been fitted the wrong way. The sports lock can be fitted to the receiver in 4 positions, I found only one of those is the correct way for the tail to lay comfortably in the ear.

That’s really helpful thanks, to hear your estimate on timeframe, I think I can safely say it’s the domes then (I seem to have very slippery canals!), the locks are on correctly and were serving me very well until very recently.

Mine are a couple of years old already and work great. About a year ago I was stashing my aids in a box I use and one of the locks was sticking out and became bent so I just replaced that one. I think that they should last indefinitely. I think that your new domes may be the cause.

I've had mine as long as I've had my (Oticon 85db). I recently replaced them with some I got browsing eBay. Unfortunately, the plastic is a lot thicker and harder than the originals, and they hurt my ears. Oticon doesn't seem to offer them. Any suggestions?
