My guess is that there is no other noise for the hearing aid to boost so it boosts road noise. I’m noticing mine boosts air movenment, road noise, or any steady midrange noise, when there is no speech going on, on program 1. Other programs do not seem to do that.
Don: I’m assuming that when you stated midrange noise you mean frequency wise, so expansion won’t help much, but why not adjust your EO II values for moderate and loud noise for program one? It probably wouldn’t take much to stop the annoyance (at least I’m assuming it’s an annoyance from your other post)?
bikey: This also brings up a good point about your programming. It might be worth checking just to make certain that these EO II values haven’t been jacked through the roof. Also, it’s worth noting that there shouldn’t be more than a 3dB difference between adjacent columns (in both EO II and NT II). If it can’t be adjusted, and you return with settings, please get the EO II valuess and also the values (especially for 1k through 3k).
