I purchased Resound Nexia ’s about a year ago (my loss is severe at nearly all frequencies in both) and a few months later, one aide quit working while I was vacationing at a national park - elevation was mostly 8K feet above sea level ( I live near sea level). My audi called Resound b/c he couldn’t sort it out and the first thing the resound tech asked was if I was at elevation. I sensed this was a known problem! My HA’s were sent in for repair, which took 2 weeks, and I was assured this would never happen again - wrong!
I’m just got back from a trip and the Resounds went out again. This is what I believe: the pressure differential caused by elevation changes caused them to stop working. On the drive out, they both stopped working at higher elevation and came back at lower - repeatedly as we drove on to our destination and they remained non-operational at higher elevation for 5 days, then started working fine. When we drove back I had the same issues but this time they quit at the lower elevations and came back at higher - repeatedly.
I’m home now at near sea level and they don’t work . I’m guessing they will work fine in a few days when their pressure stabilizes.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
