Looking for some guidance. Does your wire touch/rub on the inside of your tragus? Should it, or should it be fitted in such a way that it doesn’t touch?

My wire is touching there and although it is subtle, it is incredibly irritating, all the time, because as I understand it, the tragus is full of nerve-endings.

I’d be interested to hear other people’s experience.

It can be close but it shouldn’t touch or push up against it, maybe depending on the shape of yours?

Mine doesn’t touch any all. Full Cshell ear molds may stick out a bit further. I guess it depends on the type of they you have as well as your ear shape. The wires do come in different lengths.

Thank you both, this is helpful. I think the domes I have are too big and aren’t sitting as deep as they should, hence the wire popping out a touch too far. I’ll see what alternatives my audiologist suggests - its a shame there’s so medium-sized tulips out there, I’m pretty sure that’s my size!

Typically I would not expect much (or any) contact with the actual tragus. Ideally, the wire would lay through the anterior notch i.e. the gap between the tragus and the helix. If something is rubbing behind the tragus itself I would suspect either the insertion is not deep enough, or the faceplate is not recessed enough.
