Table microphone compatible with Widex Allure

Hello

I am using Widex Allure hearing aids (with extra small vented sleeve domes). I manage ok in quiet environments but am struggling a bit in meetings. There is no where I work, although there are some of those big old fashioned portable loops - which seem to create even more background noise! I am hoping that a table microphone might help me, but none seem to be compatible with Widex. (And Widex’s own table microphone does not work with my hearing aids…)

I have some middle ear problems on top of my sensory loss. These are probably not helping, and I’m reluctant to change the hearing aids until have decided whether or not intervening surgically will help me. (Once things are settled from a middle ear perspective, I may revisit whether new hearing aids are a good idea.) This will all take a while, hence looking for something to help in the meantime.

I’ve had hearing problems since childhood - mixed mild loss. As an adult I’ve had a serious ototoxic exposure (gentamicin overdose) and my is still changing. I’m having hearing tests every six months until things stop changing.

I would be grateful for any suggestions!

As much as I love Widex (I have the SmartRICs), their decision to rebuild everything from scratch—killing the Moment accessory compatibility, changing the programming software, and removing features—is terrible, and it’s the reason I won’t choose Widex again (no wonder I still see SmartRICs being sold at a premium price). It’s a shame, because the Widex Sound Assist is an amazing device.

The only option that comes to mind is using a microphone with an device. This thread talks about using your phone as a mic and streaming the audio through Auracast to your hearing aids.

EDIT: I do not know if the Allure latest firmware enabled Auracast. I know the Allure model does have the Auracast feature but I am not sure about the regular Allure.

If you’re thinking about a mic that you can put on a table so you can hear other people, the ReSound Multi-Mic+ is capable and will connect non-Resound through your app’s Auracast assistant. The Jabra Multi-Mic+ from Costco is cheaper than the Resound branded one, but it’s the same device. The Starkey table mic looks great, but the last time I looked, it doesn’t do Auracast; it connects only to Starkey HAs.

I just edited my post – i couldn’t find any place that the confirms the Allures have enabled (the Allure that just came out does).
