I am trying to better understand some basic concepts about self fitting. I am using Phonak Target 9.0 on my Marvel 70-R .
As I look at Fine Tuning tab, and see for each HA, there are six plots; Target Gain for G50, G65 and G80 and Gain for each of the gains. Regardless of wWhether one uses , NAL NL-2 or Adaptive Phonak Digital, is the desired end result that the fitting formula matches the gains to the target at all points?
What I am trying to accomplish is obtaining the best understanding of speech possible in background noise - elevate speech audio against background noise. My audiogram is posted, but what is not reflected is that my score is 12. I struggle when background noise exceeds 50 db, that means I struggle to hear the cashier who is 3 ft. away in retail/grocery stores. Frustrating!!
My understanding is that the Phonak Lumity and Autosense 5.0 does a better job of suppressing background noise, and I may make a change when Phonak releases the next generation.
TIA
