Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask if anyone here has personal experience with thermolysis (shortwave / high-frequency electrolysis) for permanent hair removal while having a cochlear implant.
I understand that thermolysis uses high-frequency alternating current to generate heat in the hair follicle, and I’m aware that electrical or electromagnetic interference could theoretically affect implanted devices. However, I haven’t been able to find clear, real-world feedback or manufacturer guidance specifically about facial areas in people with .
So, I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has:
-
undergone electrolysis or thermolysis (especially in the face, neck, or near the ear area) with a CI,
-
received advice from their CI center or implant manufacturer,
-
or has been told it’s safe or unsafe based on professional recommendations.
I’m not planning to proceed without medical approval — I’m just gathering community experiences first.
Thanks so much in advance for sharing your insights! ![]()
