And tenkan there is another fall-back help device available when your ears struggle with speech comprehension. I have a Phonalk aid in one ear and a in the other.and use a Roger ON.
I now also use a little app called Live Transcribe on my iPhone. When I can’t understand the speech Live Transcribe comes to the rescue. It comprehends accents that I can’t, can keep up with the speech well, has very good accuracy and keeps a record of what was said that you can reread if you wish. For me, listening to a funeral service in a high peaked church is now possible. I will also listen to podcasts on my computer with good speakers but I also have the Transcribe fired up ready to go when a difficult speaker comes on. Definitely worth a shot if you haven’t tried it,
