TV streamer problem

Have the Oticon Intent mini rite aids and the Oticon 3.0 TV Streamer. My wife has a pair of generic ear buds that she watches tv with. When she starts hers up the tv’s sound goes completely out. No big deal usually but today when I switched mine to streaming they wouldn’t work while hers were being used. If she stopped streaming and put her buds in the case then I was able to use mine. This is a non starter for us but for the life of me I don’t know how to make it work properly anymore. Can use a little help please.

It’s totally dependent on what outputs your TV allows to be active simultaneously. It may be that that the tv is correcting for the latency on your wife’s ‘classic’ connection and the designers have decided that the only other output that they can guarantee to be in sync is the TV’s speaker. You’ll have to peruse the options in your TV sound menu.

If all else fails and you really want to watch TV together you could try returning the streamer and get a generic transmitter plus new Auracast-capable buds for your wife. It might be cheaper than what you paid for the streamer.

I don’t have your setup, but had a similar problem. If you can, use TOSLINK optical output to your device(s). That is a continuous feed. It can be split with a splitter cable (Amazon) for two devices. If your device is analog, then you can use an inexpensive DAC (digital/analog converter - Amazon) to convert to analog, plus that would give you individual remotes with volume controls and mute buttons.

Ended up not being a hearing aid or streamer problem. Foolin around yesterday I inadvertently paired the ear buds to my DIRECTV Gemini Air and that basically kicked my Oticon TV streamer out. Once I re-paired the buds to the tv directly everything works fine again. When she turns her buds on the tv basically mutes the sound but I am able to still use my Oticon streamer. Tech+old don’t work well in our family much anymore. Thanks for all the input.
