The same is true of most brands. Oticon, Unitron and Widex don’t have echo cancellation algorthims. Their respective sister companies Bernafon, Phonak and Signia do.
You forgot Rexton (that’s the one from Costco) so instead of using check out the hearingtracker industry Map, this will give you some more understanding of what’s happening and how/why models/brands are alike..
Resound and Beltone there are still some differences in signal processing arising from different patent portfolios when the two brands were separate companies.
When was that, like 20 years ago? Can you quote this difference? But what matters now is they are the same as with Jabra in all but name.
which are all expensive because they all price all of their products with a hearing aid manufacturer’s mindset.
Can’t agree more, sonova are the worst, grossley over inflated prices for Roger product’s, yeah their mindset is to get as much $$ from you for a product that is going obsolete, it’s not even high technology at that!
I didn’t use for my last post or anything other than summarising the destinations in autosense OS vs soundnav because why should anyone retype that from scratch?
Unitron and Phonak were once completely separate companies. As were Bernafon, Oticon and Rexton. They are all run as competing brands with their own patented features that are unique to them. That you can see similarities with Widex and Signia who have only recently united as a company but already share similar charger designs simply demonstrates that not everything is shared when companies are acquired by the same holding companies.
Beltone is sold as a private label brand where I am and I haven’t worked with them much so I don’t recall off the top of my head. I do remember looking into the features at the time and being surprised myself that they weren’t just rebadged resound devices. I understand starkey does a lot rebadging but not so much in my market.
