USB-C only in EU from today?

Like many uneducated people in the United States, you are throwing around terms that you have no knowledge of what they really mean. Communism has never been tried anywhere including the former Soviet Union. The closest was the Kibbutz system in Israel. Even they had to change what Carl Marx described as Communism in his book, “The Communist Manifesto”. Marx Said, “From each according to their needs.” The Israeli kibbutz version said, “The longer you are in the kibbutz, the needer you are”. What the European Union has is Socialism. That’s where the government makes decisions that affect economics to ensure fairness. Stalin, who succeeded Vladimir Lenin upon his death, turned the Russian Revolution into a police state. Those at the highest levels of the Communist party, became the Oligarchs of today’s Russia under Putin. In Russia nothing has changed for more than 100 years. The Czar and the imperial court was replaced by the Comunist Party Commissars, who were replaced by Putin and his wealthy friends, the oligarchs.

You have no idea wgo you are talking to. I have more college credits that mose PHDs. And I have spend years in Washington DC rubbing elbows with a number of presidents. And i am a retired IT professional.
So wake up and smell the roses.

Unfortunately most of them are truly low lifes there are a few good ones when they first go to Washington but they mostly go to the darkside to be reelected. I couldn’t stomach what I saw there. Most of them would sell their on children into slavery to win reelection or to pass a piece of legislation that their handles demand they get passed if they want to be reelected.

Until USB C become uniform globally on all USB cords it’s going to be painful for all OS travelers.
I travel OS frequently, I now need to travel with all the different countries power converter plugs. A power strip that has both USB A @ USB C. All my cochlear cords are USB A, my iPhone is USB C, my iPad is USB A.
It certainly does not encourage the older travelers to go out and book another OS holiday! Where as 2 years ago everything was USB A, this made life easy when traveling for the older person.

Yes, I was thinking about that too.
Maybe the manufacturers will eventually get that standardized too. Then you have different voltages and frequencies.

The different measurement systems is another area that sure would be nice to be standardized across the globe.

All these things could be done without the government stepping in…but the manufacturers seem to enjoy the separation.

Lots of room to improve in this old world. Not to mention all of our sparkling personalities. I am glad we are all different. This thread would be much less interesting otherwise.

Actually that is a common misconception. The US nominal residential voltage is 120V with a tolerance of +/- 5% (per C84.1).

Power is delivered to most homes as 240V (nominal) split phase with the 240V split at the main circuit breaker panel into two 120V halves.

The 240V is used to power EVSE, hot tubs, washer driers etc and the 120V is used for everything else.

Actually my home has a wopping 440 coming into my home and I don’t really know why. This home was built in the early 1980s. There isn’t any special here that would need that. But this has does have it’s own full house backup generator. The house is 1900 sqft, and all electric accept for the gas fireplace. We have a and heat pump system. And all electric appliances.

Your posts on this tread are full of opinions based on your own observations and your rejection of media that checks itself and is checked by competitors. You are placing your own opinions over those of everybody else’s and over some facts that you won’t acknowledge.

You write absolute statements that and attack former colleagues is such triggered language in which it’s difficult to find credibility. You attack government despite being supported by our government, and you claim the privilege of writing incoherently apparently because you were paid by government.

In other words, you show yourself to embody exactly the problem you accuse anyone who disagrees with you of embodying.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Do yourself a favor - think before you write.

I have thought about what I write for 50+ years. You just ebody yourself as being so typical of the brainwashed public that believe what you have been told to believe from childhood. More than likely by college professors. Possibly even public or private school instructors. I was educated by seeing behind the curtains of our government and the media networks. I saw the lies i saw government agency members telling the media what to report and not report. I saw the secret classes that was used to actually brainwash people and how to use it within TV ads and shows.
I don’t expect you to believe what you have been told not to believe. You know I just laugh at the stupidity that I see and I also shake my head and cry at the stupidity too. I was raised not to believe anything that I heard or even saw without doing my on verification. I advise you to not trust anything you see on TV, the internet, in a college classroom without you doing a deep dive for yourself.

CV, regulation and over regulation have nothing to do with communism which called for government ownership of the means of production. I use the past tense as Soviet style communism iedd a long time ago

As far as I can see, the Americans chose Trump only because they don’t want a woman president and a black woman. I don’t live in America, but I see Trump as a person who will worsen the relationship between America and Europe. Trump does not think about the consequences, he cares most about getting the maximum for himself.

It’s time to leave this thread. It’s devolved from an intelligent discussion of the pros & cons of requiring a std plug, to a rant about “I deserve mine, but the rest of you don’t get anything”.

Did the evil government also pay for those college credits? I’ll bet you even got them ‘on the clock’

Do you get invited to many parties? Are you welcome at family gathering?

Getting this worked up over a cable spec in another country seems weird to me but everyone needs a hobby i guess.

In my book, I believe there is too much intolerance towards our fellow humans… Everyone has a right to their own opinion & beliefs, it’s what makes this world unique, and ultimately interesting, it would indeed be a boring existence, if we all believed in the same things… I also believe we have a duty of care for our fellow , we are all here to help each other, in the fond hope, some folks will have an overall better listening experience… Goading & flaming each other on open forum, just makes other folk cringe, please keep it friendly folks, if you take umbrage at a post, a private PM is the easiest route, to resolve any issues. As for this thread, as with all manner of new laws, some folks will like them, some will hate them, and some will be totally indifferent… For me, standardising the USB type C in Europe is one of the more sensible laws, we usually don’t get many laws in the sensible category, from any government :rofl: I love the word ambience folks, let’s keep the atmosphere friendly please… Cheers Kev :wink:
