Utterly Disappointed in Phonak Infinio ITE

Just purchased a set of Titanium Phonak Infinio I70s having not had hearing aids for more than 20 years.

I can say it’s utterly disappointing… and I hear shockingly better without them. Sounds are muffled, it’s extremely difficult to hear individuals, and my voice sounds robotic. I don’t seem to hear high frequency sounds better (tried various Youtube Diagnostic Videos as well).

Worst of, the hearing aids seem to be protruding out of my ear even though I tried to push it in? Is this a defect and a racket industry?

Absolutely the wrong loss for .

You’d need a 2-3mm vent to comfortably fit the lower pitch sounds (deal with your own voice occlusion) and then find difficult to hit the required high frequencies.

This particularly needs fitting with as there’s absolutely no way you can tell the residual canal volume or even where the peaks are likely to be in the response.

There’s also a good to fair chance that you’ll dislike the ‘right’ prescription too; however correct it is.

Take them back and try a style aid instead, perhaps not the ‘house brick’ Phonak if that bothers you.
