So, I tried the unpairing aids from phone thing, and it didn’t work.
Also, went to my audiologist on Wednesday 4 times (yes, four times, in the course of 3 hours), tried to ask her 100 times to send the aids back to widex, she insisted on trying to tweak the programming, and ended up telling me that the 2 technicians they have there have the exact same training that technicians at “the factory” (term that she used) have, so it probably wouldn’t solve a thing. I ended up coming home with a fucked up programming just to try it, arrived at home 1h later with a big headache because of how loud and weird sounds were, just to go into compass GPS myself and restore an old, comfortable programming myself.
I am supposed to go there today again, because she told me that if the programming she left me wasn’t better, she would tell the technicians to swap my aid for a new one or smt like that. However, today she is at some other clinic, not at widex, so I decided to go there next week instead, when I can catch her at Widex and don’t have to go back and forth from clinic to widex, back to clinic… etc.
Meanwhile, I totally forgot to ask her to try and delete the whole programming and start a new one from scratch.
I think I will try to do that this weekend. Can PRETTY PLEASE someone tell me how do I do a factory reset and especially how do I input my stats into Compass GPS?? Or at least refer me to some kind of tutorial…
Sorry to hear this, it sounds incredibly frustrating. If when the aids went wrong nothing had been changed with the programming, it’s not a programming issue but an aid failure. I have been completely stuck myself with someone not sending the aid back to Widex. I visited them 18 times! Before I found out it wasn’t being sent back to Widex and therefore no amount of tweaking would fix it. I ended up buying new aids and now it always get sent back to Widex but it’s very rare it’s needed. If it suddenly sounds odd without tweaking it’s not about the programming. I am sorry I am not sure what to suggest, other than if you could flag it up somewhere else for a second opinion. Maybe another Widex approved fitter.
