Today, I received an update for my Widex hearing aids in the form of new firmware. However, I couldn’t find any information about what new features the firmware brings. I know that it is closed-source and proprietary software, but does Widex at least mention somewhere what has actually changed?

No. I got a firmware update as well.
The description says “bug fixes and enhancements”. I haven’t noticed any improvements.
I have the SmartRICs. If you find additional info, please share.

Widex does not seem to allow one to use the Widex app until the firmware update is complete. This is not ideal if someone is unable or has reasons not to do the update at that time. It could even be dangerous if someone depends on any function within the app which is unexpectedly unavailable.

I got the firmware update for my Widex Moments (I am in New Zealand).
I checked the notes for the Widex Moment app in the Apple Store but all it said was bugs and improvements - I have not noticed any difference in the app or from before.

Yes, but the “bugs and improvements” is probably related to the Widex Moment app, not the firmware itself.
It seems Widex is not very open to tell about the internals of hearing aids.
