Any idea what's up with Widex releasing its new Tinnitus management for Allure? I've been waiting patiently for a year. I love the Allure but this is pretty ridiculous that a company like Widex can't get it together on a feature they were so known for.

Per our most recent communication with our rep a few weeks ago, Zen will be released on the Allure later this year, and it will also be included in a firmware for original Allure devices around the same time.

There is the widex tinnitus app of course but it uses more phone battery than a dedicated program would.
I prefer to play my favourite music very softly from files saved on my phone. Works really well as a tinnitus masker.

No, Widex Zen program uses fractal sounds that are very pleasant to listen to ( sounds like a wind chime) instead of the traditional masking noise used by some other manufacturers.

They both have Zen fractal sounds but I have not done a one-to-one comparison. They have different names. I'm including the lists below. Compass GPS (Widex programming software) has additional tuning tools. With Zen compatible aids, the Zen program resides on your aids (no streaming needed).
Widex also has pink and brownian sounds options similar to what other brands have.
Fortunately, my tinnitus resolved following treatment from my , though I still enjoy listening to Zen sounds for relaxation -- Zen fractal sounds are incredibly soothing.

Do audiologists do certain tests to help dial in those settings or is a lot of it trial and adjust?
What treatment if you don't mind sharing? I know eustachian tube issues even just from colds/allergies can sometimes trigger tinnitus and it can take a while to resolve.

For years, I lived with undiagnosed Patulous Eustachian Tube (PET), a condition where the ear tubes remain open. It took over two decades to finally find an who correctly identified the issue (its rare). Its symptoms can mimic tubes congestion, so doctors often treat it as such. Unfortunately, this only worsened PET and my tinnitus plus affected my hearing. No more decongestants for me ever.
Treatment: Rx potassium iodide oral drops few days + hypertonic saline drops (that you have to put at the entrance of the eaustachian tube to "close" the tubes. After treatment (ongoing) my tinnitus is 95% gone plus my last hearing test showed my hearing improved significantly (from mild to severe->mild to moderate). Some of my thresholds improved by 20dB :-)

are sometimes too quick to shrug about hearing loss and as a result miss treatable conditions and better diagnostics. While those might not be entirely reversible, a 20dB improvement in your example is not nothing.
What would happen if tried to gently pop your ears with the eustachian tubes stuck open? No pop but also limited restriction?
