I have received my Noahlink wireless receiver and I have the software to program my Resound hearing aids. These hearing aids had been programed by the original seller and all of the settings transferred over once the aids were connected. Like most hearing aid users I have trouble with speech recognition and hearing in noise. I am able to do some minor adjustment with my iPhone but I am unable to save this as a default setting and load it every time I use the aids. This indicated that I needed more gain in the midrange and less gain in the treble range. As a result I added some gain in the 1000Hz range and lowered the gain in the 6000Hz range incrementally over several days. This made a good improvement. I also raised the gain in environmental optimizer for soft speech.
So far I have made improvements in my hearing ability and I am pleased with these results but there must be some way to actually do these adjustment properly instead of just randomly tweaking. For instance some folks seem to be just raising the gain in the 50dB range to improve speech clarity. The program allows three ranges of 50, 65, and 80. It has eight frequency ranges from 250 to 8000Hz. The environmental optimizer has some setting in the all around range but nothing has been set in the hearing in noise range. Is there someplace that I can learn about what settings I should be looking at for specific problems?
