Phonak Audeo Sphere muffling calls

I’m replaced my Widex and am now using a Phonak Audeo Sphere (highly recommended by my patient and experienced audiologist!). So far they are mostly great…a few tweaks needed but the sound is clear, the battery life is great and they are comfortable. I use it with a iPhone 13.

Three issues that I hope to resolve:

First, callers say I sound muffled. When I take the call off Bluetooth and use the phone/speaker they say I sound fine. So I believe it has something to do with the Bluetooth/hearing aid connection.

Second, in my car (2019 MIni Cooper) the sound system does not seem to prioritize the car Bluetooth and still routes calls throught the HAs (I would prefer they go through the car speakers)

Third, the phone rings and I get notifications in my HA’s and I would prefer it not.

I’m going back to the audiologist at the end of the month but any thoughts before than would be much appreciated.

In the App: Devices, , Bluetooth phone calls.

Either select or deselect “Adaptive Bandwidth”. See if that alteration works for your callers. This alteration is permanent and doesn’t need your Audiologist.

Not sure on car issue. I always felt if I answered the call in the steering wheel (BMW), it would route to the speakers. If I answered with the HAs it would go to the hearing aids.

As a wearer, I find that car sound systems are painful to hear from and ask to be taken off speaker.
Unless I am chewing nuts - the HA mics have great sound according to those I speak with, why use the phone’s mic. This way, I can keep phone in my pocket or on desk.

Could another device be affecting performance of your phone to HA connection?

I’m not sure what it is but my audiologist is going to get in my car to help me try to figure it out at my next appointment.
