Hi, is this still true with the update I received recently? I find that the aids are working extremely well with my phone.
Thanks.

Yes, P90 will never get LE, but they will work with any phone that has classic bluetooth without issues.

This was the first thing I stopped using, with iphone, 9050 for phone calls because folks kept complaining about my sound. The 9050’shave been a big disappointment for me. The in crowds scenario is horrible and as far as eliminating background noise, they are useless.

If that’s all you need, then using Bluetooth classic works just fine for you and many others.
I just want to point out to folks that Bluetooth classic is old technology and that it wouldn’t have the ability to use . This way folks know what they will be missing if they go with Bluetooth classic and go in with their eyes open when buying an expensive piece of equipment.

Yeah it’s LEA that’s more important right now, sucks so for us android user’s it’s a big step in the right direction.

Although I don’t use my 9050 for phone calls I believe in the app or on the phone there is a setting to either use the mic or the phone mic

Maybe, but only if your phone has , which many phones older than a couple years don’t have, unfortunately.

For iphones, I believe so. For Androids that’s coming in Android 16- if your phone has .

I have 9050’s and S24+ and have complete hands free - listening and speaking. In fact I’ve gotten a call, tap the hearing aid and had a conversation, all the while being more than 25 feet away from my phone.

I bit the bullet and traded my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra for the S25 Ultra. The new phone and the 9050’s seem to be working together very well so far (only a couple hours into it) ![]()

Just so you’re aware. Android 16 will allow the user to choose between the aids’ and the phone’s microphones. T
Idk if the 8 Pro has this, but my P9 has Hearing Device Settings embedded in the Device details for my Oticon Intents. You can tap the device type gear icon, and under Audio device type you can change from various hardware, like speaker, headphones, and hearing device.
There’s also a handy Hearing aid shortcut you can enable for quick access to that setting!

Congrats!! Now you’re current, and ready for the Big Time experience.
Read my post above about the Hearing aid shorcut, and settings, assuming your phone has android 15.

@flashb1024 Yep. That stuff’s there. I haven’t tested to see if any of those options change voice input to the phone mic but allow you to hear the other party through your aids. The thing I want is a way to change to the phone mic while I’m in a call. Handsfree works well for me most of the time, but I want a quick plan B for when it doesn’t.
@kgilbertsen No. Just above the switch in the device’s Bluetooth settings, there’s “Audio device type”. It’s a drop-down list.

You can switch to the telephone microphone from your dialer while you’re on a call. You should have an icon that shows whether you’re using your hearing aid, the microphone, or the speaker. Tap on that and select the microphone
