Extra program added, but it's not in the Target list

I have three programs that I can switch between manually on my I90s. The first one is Sphere mode, the second one is a customized Quiet mode that my audiologist made for me, and the third one is Car mode, because my I90s never seem to switch into car mode when using Automatic mode. Now here’s the weird thing…

At some point last February, I gained a forth mode, which turned out to be Restaurant mode, which I have never added to the manual program list. I should mention, that I have the Target 10 software and the Noahlink. When I look at the list in Target, Restaurant mode isn’t (and has never been) there. But when I cycle through the manual programs using the rocker switch, Restaurant mode is always a fourth mode that I don’t really want, because it adds extra delay when I’m trying to get back to Automatic.

Anyone else experience this?

I remember experiencing something similar when playing with the app after saving a program. I don’t remember specifics.

My aids came with three preloaded “personalized” adjustments, restaurant, tv, and music. You can delete them, whereas i don’t think you can delete the target-programmed programs without target.

I think I read that your changes to these personalized programs get reset when you program or update with target. (You lose your changes.)

This program you have sounds like one of the “personalized” programs seeded into the aids. Restaurant is based on speech in noise in my case. (Not speech in loud noise.)

The personalized list are the programs that are selected when I push and hold the rocker switch. I have three, but now there is a fourth. Each program has its own distinct tone when I switch programs. One day, there was a fourth tone. I checked it with the Phonak app and discovered it was Restaurant more. No idea why it suddenly pops up on the rocker selection, but it’s not on the list in Target.

The personalized are created in the myphonak app, not target. Typically you can only get to one of them via buttons, after cycling through the ones loaded via target. That would be the last one selected via the app.

You can tell by looking at the list of programs in the middle tab of my Phonak, “Devices”, under the “program management” item. The target loaded programs will be grouped together under “fitted by ” and the ones via app under personalized. This may help you determine whether it came via target or myphonak app, although I think target sets them up by some kind of default originally. If you aren’t looking in this location,you may have the other two, but don’t see them because you cycle through programs via buttons?

This is the list that I’m referring to in Target. It is independent of the My Phonak app and works entirely without it if you have never used the app. This list is set up by the audiologist and is independent of whatever the app does.

Try to delete the personalized Restaurant program
in the MyPhonak app.

go to Devices, then “hearing aid programs”, select the individual “Restaurant program” and you will see a delete button.

Aha! Yes, you are right. I don’t know how that got individualized, but it’s gone now. Thanks!
