YES the large one in your hand and I think it is too large for a woman, don’t you?
Hopefully I will learn something in tomorrow’s.

not my hand, it’s an image from google.
But you seem to have one of the most powerful hearing aids on the market, same as my brother’s.
It is a Phonak Naida Lumity UP, it should largely accommodate your hearing loss.
Since your hearing loss goes up to 100dB I suppose you could try the new Audeo Infinio Sphere version which is smaller than the Naida and can go up to 105dB using a power receiver.
It could be adjustments or maybe you need more time to adjut to Phonak’s sound, since you came from Oticon.
BTW, unless you think they are cumbersome, you could try the Audeo version as said above, but again, you will need to define your priorities, hearing or fashion!!! (perhaps both), in any cases, talk to your audiologist and voice your concerns, that’s the best way to get a good result.
Good luck

It is power BTW hearing aid. Manufacturers also want to make that kind of hearing aid, but for now it isn’t possible. Compare this to the sound processors, which is used by small children.
I’m not writing this to downplay the problem, I’m writing what the reality is.
Another solution may be the Audeo Infinio Sphere or non-Sphere with the UP receiver. However, I’m not sure if you would be pleased with your hearing loss, it may be not powerful enough. The housing is smaller, but the UP receiver is large—I don’t know if it will fit in your ear canal. However, if will show that UP receiver is powerful enough and I’ll fit in your ear canal - it couls be bull’s eye.
Earmold is definitely to be remade. Probably new silicone ear impression should be made, perhaps with open-jaw technique.

Good heavens, fashion means nothing to me anymore. It is not the sight of it’s being large, it just feels like a harness on my head. The Audeo Infinio Sphere sounds like a good idea. I’ll see how that goes with my Audiologist tomorrow. I take it that you don’t think it is sized for a man rather than a woman?
Thank you for the help, it means a lot to me.

Hello, I tried the non-sphere and now have the sphere model. I don’t find the size a problem at all for comfort, or wearing with reading glasses that I take on and off all day. I’d say I have average size female ears.![]()

We put those hearing aids on teeny little 2 month old babies. They are for individuals with severe/profound losses and the power required limits how small they can be.
That said, you may be fine in the SP which is pretty close to the UP but smaller. Takes a 13 battery rather than a 675.

Let us know how that goes.
I too believe you just might get by with the aids with UP receivers, maybe even the SP receivers.
I also agree with Neville on the SP aids. Like the Naida SP. Really nice aids.
Good luck with this.

OP here - I’ve been in contact with my audie again and he’s suggested I try a pair of spheres with power domes in the absence of a UP version. He also says he it doesn’t look as if the UP is coming. I’m not sure if he’s spoken to phonak. This is what I was getting at before we both went away on hols. My thinking being if they are so much better maybe they will help! Fingers crossed! He does let me try aids for an extended period without parting with any money.

Hi! Maybe I misunderstand what you mean, or maybe I’m missing a piece somewhere…But the Spheres actually can be fitted with UP receivers. See For Professionals - Phonak Audéo Sphere™ Infinio hearing aids | Phonak3
In fact, that’s what I have: I90 Spheres with UP receivers on custom moulds.

@SandraN see thread below:
For people with a severe to profound hearing loss we had first good results when using more powerful receivers, UP receivers. As has also been shown in a pilot study from Mayo clinic
Not sure what’s the definition of severe to profound in this case, and if your case is within the UP receiver’s ability ![]()

It might not be a good idea to post your email address on a public forum.
It can be edited out if you desire.
