Oticon Check Battery Percentage While Charging

Apologies if this question has come up before. I Googled around for an answer, but I couldn’t find one.

With my Oticon More 2s, I can see the battery percentage using the Companion app. There’s also a nice estimate of hours of use left. However, all this goodness is available only when the hearing aids are not charging.

Drop the hearing aids into the charger, and they go offline. The only indication of status is the binary amber/green LED, which isn’t very fine grain. And, of course, since the hearing aids are offline, the Companion app also doesn’t show an estimate of time remaining until full charge.

This, I guess, was state of the art four years ago when I bought the More 2s.

What’s the state of the art today? Any Intent owners out there know if the Companion app shows battery percentage while charging?

How about other brands? Does Phonak, for instance, show percentage while charging?

Note: normally I don’t care too much about this. When the hearing aids are new I just drop them in the charger at bedtime, and they’re green in the morning, but when the battery starts to fail, it sure would be nice to have.

Still not possible or available for the INTENT aids. But the companion app will say that the aids are charging.

Oh. That’s actually a step forward then. The hearing aids stay connected.

What phone do you have?
My Pixel 9 shows the battery % while charging in the quick Tile for Bluetooth.
The Oticon Intent uses the latest codec, when connected to a phone which supports HAP (advanced Hearing Aid Protocol) gives almost as much control as the Companion app.

EDIT After a short period the disconnect from the phone while charging, and so, lose battery status. Sorry for misleading.

I can’t be certain, because I got the Pixel 9 in April, and updated the Intents in May, but I thought it was part of the android May feature drop.
Can you drop your in the charger, check your connected devices settings:

My Intents are in the charger now. When I’m wearing them they show as active.

Oh cool. The Intents are my top contender right now. So it sounds like I may get a feature that my Mores just don’t have.

Oh. I guess not as cool as I’d hoped. For me this is nice to have, but more crucial as the batteries age.

I always suspected this was an engineering tradeoff of some sort. For example, the hearing aid has enough memory to run the hearing aid function or the battery charger software, but not both at the same time.

Ok thanks. I ask because I do not have any vision at all, thus I use the Iphone Built in voice over to read things like battery charge status. Apple’s voice over screen reader most things on the Iphone quite well so I do not anticipate issues with the oticon app. If you would like more detail just let me know. I hope that explains my use.

Understood. It seems like your best bet will be to remove the hearing aids from the charger, let them boot up, and then check the app.

I don’t wear the hearing aids overnight, but I know that some people do. Therefore, my routine is to place the hearing aids in the charger at bedtime and let them charger overnight. They’re always fully charged in the morning, and they easily last all day (with my usage and correction).

To be honest, I haven’t really thought about the batteries much since I got the Intents last fall. They’re just working for me. For example, today I’ve been wearing the hearing aids for about 10 hours, and I’ll probably wear them for another 6 hours. They’re currently at left: 67%, right 66%.
