I called. Amazing tomorrow I have an appointment. 10:00 am.
I shall see my hearing instrument specialist. I’ve been a client for two years. I found them after my dispensing Audi fired me.
I’m so happy with the work they’ve done.
A guess. I change in my moulded inserts. Perhaps I’ve damaged the wire from the hearing aids. They are 3-1/2 years old.
Maybe in future will help set up new hearing aids. Wouldn’t that be cool. An AI based Target setup.
Can’t understand speech in loud noise? Shazam
Heck it could be built in to our hearing aids on the AI chip.
I have great respect for skilled hearing aid providers. And the pros that help us here.

A few months ago I had one of my receivers changed, I could actually notice that it was about to fail, the Audi did that and all came back to normal.

I remember.
I’ll see what they find tomorrow.
My hearing instrument specialist worked in hearing aid manufacturing in Canada.
I saw him interviewed on CHCH tv. I was impressed. I called him, had an appointment and became his client at his clinic. He produced better results first appointment than my dispenser had ever done.

I thought you got new receivers to get the newer ?

I already had the new waxguards on my power receivers. They’re perfect.
My new moulded inserts are Phonak slimfits. Same waxguards.
I don’t have the device you showed me to protect the wire.
When I take out the dirty waxguards they usually come out even though they’re bigger than the opening.
When I put the new one in the receiver gets pushed out a bit, or possibly all the way.
Often the waxguards is crooked. Then I push the receiver out.
My specialist sells mainly resound .

There is a tool to hold the receiver in the mold for when you change . It has ends sized for s, m, p, & mav receivers.

This just doesn’t sound right to me. I have Audeo P90 and Custom Slimtips. The should be nowhere near the receivers. These receivers are delicate, so try to avoid pulling on the wires when removing your aids from your ears.
For those that haven’t seen them, Slimtips are hollow acrylic shells, which have a red or blue silicon tube attached. The receiver goes into this sleeve, and will sit 5-10mm behind the end of the slimtip.

Pretty sure the is attached to the receiver. I don’t see any gap between receiver (red) and wax guard (white)

In the first photo I’ve removed the filter.

Once the receiver has been fitted, it’s very difficult to remove it, and doing so can easily damage the receiver, hence the filters being fitted to the Slimtip, by design

I’m leaving to go seemyHA Specialist.
I don’t know what mouldedinserts I have. He called them clamshells. Someone else here corrected me. I’m in Canada. I’ll find out more.
I’m grateful for his care.

My Audi said the same to me, so when I had a new Cshell made (custom mold) she never took out the old receiver but put in a new one instead, the only time she remove the receiver was when it was about to give up and removing it then did not matter if it broke.

My fit into the end of the receiver. There is a tiny tube of rubbery silicone like material between the receiver tip and the sliptip end. My slimtips are titanium.
Cshells sound pretty different.
