This is a topic I have no former knowledge about but it sounds incredibly interesting. Seems that it will be in use this fall sometime? and helpful to virtually all wearers. I was very impressed with its potential, but I’m a neophyte. What are you long time people’s thoughts on this tech?

It will be available to manufacturers of hearing aids and real-ear verification machines in the fall, but likely won’t really roll out into clinical use until sometime next year. At the very least, all of the verification machines need to be updated to calculate the new rationale.

Ah OK. It sounded like the current crop of ’s were able to be set up to take advantage of the NL3 settings, which makes me hopeful that at least the most recent aids from the various mfgs. will be able to provide the benefits to their users

ALL hearing aids will be able to be fit to NL3, regardless of whether the manufacturers update or not. It might take a bit more wrangling during , but it’s a set of gain targets.
I enjoyed the NAL guy hitting on adding a speech in noise “module” and failing to mention that released theirs a few years back. I’m looking forward to the new reverse slope targets.

Thank you @kgilbertsen… That’s a hard watch, with that many adverts, in that video! TBH, I hate adverts, and immediately switch off my brain, when one appears 
But, I am very interested in NAL NL3, so I endured the video, well up until they talked about 2… Cheers Kev

I not only hate advertising, I hate videos. I would much rather have the information in written form. Can nobody write anymore? Or is it that people can’t read?

Yeah YT has become unwatchable, absolutely saturated with advertising and all done to annoy and nag you to pay the subscription, I drew the line some time ago when they started playing ads in the middle of songs!! God forbid…

Seems like they set themselves to improve well-known problems. I use NAL-NAL2 now with Phonak Audeo I90s. I will try the upgrade when it becomes available. While I was watching I realized I had sound off, reading the closed captions. I watched it with an ad-blocker. No ads.

Is the nal nl3 much more advanced than the previous ones? Even than Phonak’s proprietary formula?

My issues include hearing poorly in noisy environments. But I have real issues hearing well in quiet environments. And it’s made far worse when new Canadians speak quickly in a quiet environment.
It’s extremely tiring and bothers the c*ap out of me.
