I have the ReSound Vivia 9s in both my ears, and it seems anytime I go to loud environments, windy, restaurant or bar, mall, or even movie theater, it automatically changes my audio modes to maybe noise cancel or something that sounds like a microphone on the hearing aid itself.
For example, when it’s activated/switched… if I touch my right hearing aid microphone, I hear it on my left, like they are a synced microphone, and it almost sounds like I’m using my multi-mic in microphone mode. It makes for a horrible hearing experience.
A hearing aid provider I met in Singapore while traveling mentioned the following to me: “Well, Vivia uses , so it will automatically choose the best setting that eliminates background noise. Hence, you are experiencing the periodic switch when in a noisy environment. I believe the AI setting can be disabled. Just tell your audiologist that you prefer not to have the AI.”
The problem is that I am not in the USA where all my doctors are, i am in Philippines and I am now exploring consideirng I am a computer programmer/tech nerd, I did buy and have a NoahLink Wireless shipped to me here and I’ve always felt that I could figure out the software myself since I’ve watched and always asked questions to the audiologist since I was 5, to understand my hearing aids better growing up.
Long story short, I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and was able to fix it? I am also looking to download the latest version of the ReSound Smart Fit if anyone has a copy to share to help start my DIY journey now that I have the hardware.
