Yes, reportedly massive +5 dB SNR difference. I can’t find quickly my post about it. It probably in topic about Nucleus Nexa.
Too bad we can’t pick another brand of sound processors but we can pick whatever hearing aid we want., it is kind of muted at this point because we are already implanted with a brand. i’m glad i made my choice with Cochlear and the N8 represent the best in the industry,
@ssa, what setting do you have with CI? IIRC you have massive 100 dB IDR? How many n of m peaks you use - 8? And did they provides you the info how much pulse per second you have in you mappings?
Yeah, noise is the holy grail and man the noise test (SNR) was so easy that it took me by surprised, After the test, they increased the C and T electrical dynamic range. increasing it from 40 db to 80 db. (C takes a higher voltage and T takes a lower voltage)
no support for unilateral AI is a bummer. I prioritize future streaming tech but i think the AI is not mature enough for use in hearing aid…
The only with unilateral is Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere.I don’t agree about maturity; if I had Sphere in my study period, my life would have been substantially better. That AI program is amazing, especially with more closed acoustic coupling, like power domes or earmolds with small vents.
There is in Starkey Edge AI or Oticon Intent, which are also good and help people in this forum.
This evening, a few hours ago I was in a meeting with a female acquaintance, and despite the noise and the less-than-ideal acoustics, I heard her quite well.
These are screenshots from the AudiologyOnline webinar about Nucleus 8:

As you can see, SCAN2 changes between directionality patterns (drawn in different colors) depending on the environment.
EDIT:
Analyze the notches: null points have little to no sound reception.
These are:
Blue - 1 null point at 180° (perfectly behind your back) but quite much sound reception no…

Oh, that is good. More tech tools at your disposal that give you the ability to hear in noise. Current technology… I have pretty much hit the performance ceiling. So in my case, I’m perfectly fine with regular Scan 2 and automatic default hearing aid program… i use the very aggressive noise reduction in a case by case basis but it is rare i switch program
Yes, I also wonder about that. So, after reaching some point of better hearing the continuation probably will be in comfort features, like battery life or size of the . Cannot wait for xMEMS technology because I need audibility in highest frequencies and there are some evidence that even 8k-20kHz range is useful in speech in noise, so more processing power will be needed.
Speaking of my HA (Sphere), the only drawback is very rare situation, when loud party lasts more than 7-8 hours. I was in that in June and at its end, after 7.5h I had to change to Phonak Paradise 90 (2020 technology) + Roger On setting.
Congratulations I wonder what was the noise
level and SNR.
it is the standard 4 people speaking in noise 2 male /2 female voice. -10. After achieving the performance ceiling for noise. My biggest priority now is durability of microphone and le audio /. I think i have achieved all objective with this hearing aid.

I would write the same as you after that accomplishment. Oh, maybe I would started to train more with music perception.
Hey, I asked a question above but didn’t get an answer. How does the “live listen” feature work on an iPhone with Bluetooth -enabled hearing aids? Does it work in a similar way to hearing aids with the Made for iPhone () protocol?
No, it is still same old MFI stuff from resound from the omnia and older device… Live listen can be vibecoded easily by just piping from microphone input to selected speaker output as an app on any platform such as Android, web, and windows.

For what I seen on datasheet metal is a bit stronger, has more max gain ~600-900 Hz and had a few more in 8-9 kHz (rather negligible clinicaly, if I am not wrong).
