My Phonak app update

A new update has been released for the My Phonak app. It claims to have a simplfied pairing process, but I can’t find any difference from the previous version. Also, I see that the new Virto model hearing aids have AutoSense 7.0. Maybe the Infinio Sphere aids will get a software update soon, as they still have 6.0.

Highly unlikely. Phonak had never updated its AutoSense program, even in Paradise (2020 technology), despite it having the same chip as the newer Lumity lineup (2022 technology).

The new MyPhonak app is definitely speedier and shows % SOC of the batteries much faster and more reliably.

As to AutoSense 7.0, it would be nice if Phonak improved the AutoSense switch to Spheric noise reduction and gave the users the ability to tune that switch for AutoSense itself, rather than just for derived custom programs. Even though the Virto doesn’t have Spheric noise reduction, presumably AutoSense 7.0 will be applied across the board, maybe through firmware updates to other reasonably current Phonak (or it should be, IMHO).

A corresponding update to EasyLine is also out. Same app version number so the same under the hood. Obviously no reference to the Virto but it references the connection improvement and UI tweakery.

Oddly in the Apple App Store I see reference to Phonak Terra+ (the reduced cost Lumity-ish line for developing markets). Typo or sneak preview of what’s to come?

I wouldn’t hold my breath. It would be a delightful surprise. I’ve never heard of a bump like that. I’ll be happy with LEAudio & , frankly.
