I hope this isn’t repeating something I missed before posting.
I’ve had my Resound Nexia 9 hearing aids (my first pair ever) for about 18 months. They were great at first and I was surprised at how easily it was to adapt to them. They did exactly what I wanted, making the beginning sounds of words clearer (Sh, Tr, Th and so on) I work with kids and hate having to ask them to repeat something, especially if it’s sad or scary. These fixed that problem beautifully.
The problem I’ve had is that when I am streaming something, music or a phone call, the volume in one or both will drop off for no reason. They tried to repair them twice and eventually replaced them both. They were working just fine for the past 6 months, but I now I am having similar difficulties. The volume can drop off in one or both while streaming for no reason. I thought they stopped completely, but when I pull out the working aid, I can faintly hear whatever I am streaming. (Like a drop from 7 to 1 on the volume) Additionally, now whenever I put on my glasses (and the arm of my glasses touches the hearing aid) the volume will also drop off. I have found that if I stop what I am listening to and press play again, the volume returns, but it doesn’t always last.
The problem is more difficult because my hearing loss is very minimal, just to improve volume and clarity, which seems to be working fine, but I can’t really be sure that I would notice if it happening when not streaming and just talking.
I know many people have said the streaming is not reliable on these units, but I was wondering if there were any suggestions. I feel like I will need to take them out and wear AirPods if I want to listen to music or talk on the phone without interruption and that is ridiculous for so many reasons, the incredibly inflated price being at the top of the list.
Thanks
