Widex Allure streaming problem

I have had my Widex Allure for about one month. When I want to stream a podcast, it will stream through both hearing aids for a minute or two, and then stops streaming in the left hearing aid. The left one stops streaming and begins making a static noise. I never had a problem streaming Widex Moment. Thinking the left one was defective, it was replaced by my audiologist with a new left hearing aid - but it behaves the same way. I’m streaming on an iPhone 16 Pro. I have had this problem with iOS18 and it continues with iOS26. Has anyone else had this issue and fixed it?

I don’t have Widex at all, or this problem, but… I’d ask your audiologist whether she made the right hearing aid the “Bluetooth dominant” one. If yes, I’d ask her to change that to the left one instead, and see what happens.

Do you have another device running Bluetooth? I have had that problem with my Widex Moments if I leave Bluetooth on with my iPad… don’t switch smoothly from iPhone to iPad, one or the other HA will cut out until I switch off Bluetooth on one of the devices.

I do have an iPad with bluetooth working, but when I’m out walking my dog, the iPad is at home. Either way, whether close to the iPad or not even close, the left hearing aid stops streaming and begins making static. Proximity to another bluetooth device seems to make no difference.

Distance from the iPhone seems to make no difference. The left hearing aid stops streaming whether the iPhone is in my pocket or within about a foot when I’m sitting in a chair and the iPhone is resting on the chair’s arm.

What @AttilaDaPun proposed is not an option in the Widex programming software unfortunately (It’s available for Phonak).

What you can do is to ask the audiologist to reset the bluetooth connections in the programming software.

It seems the big curve balls here are 1. You didn’t have this issue with your Moments, and 2. The replacement device is doing the same thing as the original.

Assuming your phone hasn’t changed, I can think of two culprits. First, there is something up with how your phone is interacting with the new chip in Allure. This would explain why you didn’t have this issue with your Moments. However, this would not explain why this is only happening on one side. The second culprit is maybe the replacement had the same thing wrong with it as did the original. This is rare…and frustrating for sure…but it technically can happen, and it might be the most likely at this point.

In addition to getting another replacement, Widex does have a connectivity helpline specifically for phone connectivity, 844-497-8844, that can be helpful for diagnosing deeper iPhone or Android settings that may be interfering.

@AttilaDaPun ‘s point about which device is assigned as the “Bluetooth” side definitely would be a thing to consider. However, this is currently only applicable for hearing aids that utilize Bluetooth Classic (Phonak, Unitron, and the newer Signia BCT models). For iPhones, Allure pairs through Accessibility i.e. .

While it’s true only Phonak/ classic bluetooth assigns a ‘master’ aid, I’ve noticed that my Widex bluetooth connection () is affected by which aid I ‘turn on’ first (in other words, put in battery and close the aid). If there’s a Bluetooth quirk, that aid will be more likely to maintain the connection and the other may remain silent.

I have the identical issue with my most recent Widex - awful hissing noise in one side and streaming only to the other side. I use IPhone 16 Pro like the initiator of this thread. This never happened with my previous Widex Moment HAs.
