Should my hearing aid stick out past the top of my ear?

BTE ear hooks sometimes make this inevitable.

It’s usually possible to mount a RIC aid slightly further back.

I don’t want them to be visible from the front. If the tubes were a little longer i think I could push them back more.

That wire seems short to me IMO. I’d suggest trying a longer one.

Keep in mind that that is often where the microphones are located, so you may get better sound that way.

I do see that the microphone is on the tip that sticks out and in theory it would work better, but I don’t see any other hearing aids looking like mine and dont believe its purposeful.

I am ready to return these and switch to that jabara pro 30’s!

They don’t recut tubes for the trial pairs, so the tube lengths were probably left long on those. I don’t remember the trial pair sticking out like these do, but I wasn’t looking in a mirror.

They sit lower behind my ear.

They are wires, I didn’t know there was a difference until just now. I’ll see if I can get them changed.

Are they already pre bent?

Are the pre bends universal for all brands of hearing aids? It seems to me if the bend coming out of the hearing aid happened slightly later it would fit better.

pre-bent, pre-cut. Just plug and play. The wire and the receivers are one piece.
Different brands can have different shapes and lengths. There is no universal fit.

That picture says it all. You can even see by the lack of any curve in that wire: it’s pulled straight down as if being tugged and held into place by the speaker in your ear.

Wires come in S/M and L, I think, so you could try a longer wire there … I’ve often railed about the lack of CUSTOMIZED length of ear wires, cuz I was initially fit with a LONG ear wire that curved out and away from my ear canal so much I could’ve hung my coat on it.

Now I’ve got the S/M wire and it’s almost too short, but at least the wire lays flatter.

I agree: this AIN’T the look you want or paid for. Go back and try another length.

Depends on who’s in your Costco HA dispensary. Cuz other ones the audi/dispenser is only there set days of the week.

on the receipt it says M 3. looks like they go to m5.
