Do you have any idea how long it’s been out? It’s not showing up in my App as an update. If it’s a few months old, the aud already did it. Thanks!

Released in the last week or two. Check your app. The latest firmware update is shown under “Product Information”. The Ultra upgrade is. 1.1.11.0. I don’t think you will find the word “Ultra” in the app since this is just a marketing term.

It’s not an OTA upgrade - it can be done only by an audiologist, or at least someone with a NoahLink and the Phonak Target program (version 11.1).
It might be worth watching the videos and scrolling through the discussion here to learn more.

Bluetooth connections was better before the upgrade. I now have to manually disconnect/connect devices if I’ll connected to more then 2 at the same time. Before the upgrade I could start subs on any of the connected devices without having to manually disconnect another device.
I also am connected to the phone, but the myphonak app on that phone doesn’t want to connect

If you’re talking about the EasyGuard domes, they’re supposed to eliminate the necessity of changing the at all.
So far, I haven’t been able to find out much else about them - the available info is pretty sparse. In any case, they don’t look very useful to an open-dome user like me.

Got the firmware update yesterday. It’s about 30% longer battery, Spheric speech turned locked on maybe another 45 min-hour. Speric in ambient conditions is almost silent, definitely noticeable. Haven’t been in loud environments yet. devices still fight over bluetooth, including computer apps like teams preventing its use without completely quitting the app.

I sent a message to my audiology dept at the hospital about the update. I got a response, quite to my surprise, that “If you have the capability to do the update then by all means. If you experience issues, feel free to call and….”
Hoping I can get my son to assist with the target update tonight (he alone has admin on the machine.)

I don’t think they knew anything about it. Caught flat-footed. It took about 10 min with me restarting the aids when I don’t think they really needed to be restarted AGAIN.
The audiologist was hoping there’d be new hardware, with a smaller body.

Who knows.. only way to know is to try them. But that’s not what Phonak is advertising .
I saw a video in YouTube where an audiologist said this is a game changer : “I get so many patients complaining about their not working and it’s because the filters were full of wax . This is going to save me a lot of time “
so based on that , if you change your filters regularly, you won’t notice a difference.
Most people are not very good about maintenance and those are most likely the target of the new domes

I have now issues similar to what you’re describing.
I am sometimes even connected to the phone’s sound, but cannot connect to the myphonak app unless I’m restarting the hearing aids. Even if the phone is the only connected device.
Before the upgrade Bluetooth whether very good with even multiple connected devices.
I hope they can solve the issue

Are you on Android or Apple?
At least if you’re on Android, here’s something to try - takes a few minutes, but it may help and at worst it won’t hurt:
-
In MyPhonak, go into Devices/Product Information and “forget” your devices.
-
In Settings/Apps, find MyPhonak and do a “force stop” on the application.
-
In Settings/Bluetooth, delete/unpair any Phonak connections you see.
-
Put your into their charger.
-
Go back into MyPhonak, take the HAs out of the charger, and go through the pairing process again.
The idea here is to make sure MyPhonak is working with shiny new Bluetooth pairings rather than any residual memory of the pre-update pairings. I’ve noticed that the app doesn’t always properly refresh itself automatically.
I’ve also found that the app works considerably better if “stay connected” is enabled.

…Much.
(Sorry sorry sorry.)

Thank you.
That’s what I did. Additionally, I also removed all existing Bluetooth pairing in target, also didn’t help.

Have you tried rebooting your phone and/or your Spheres? You really shouldn’t have to do either - not if the relevant software developers really did their job meticulously - but I’ve noticed that MyPhonak has some quirks that it really shouldn’t have, and pretty much all versions of Android have their flaws as well. (And I’m sure that the Spheres’ firmware, complex as it is, isn’t 100% perfectly coded either!) It might help - and, again, at worst it’s a small waste of time.
What kind of phone are you using? Any other circumstances you can think of that might help diagnose the problem? (It can get very frustrating trying to diagnose stuff without access to the source code… :-o )
