Sorry for a similar Reach post.
I’ve now had had the Rexton Reach’s for a few weeks with minor Bluetooth issues (likely due to old Samsung Galaxy S22+), volume of soft voices, behavior in restaurants, etc. Where I’m really struggling is with the Reach’s seemingly over emphasizing certain sounds to the point where I have to turn them off until I’m out of that particular scenario. For example:
- last summer/fall evening insect sounds.
- crunching leaves as I hike through freshly fallen foliage.
- tire noise. 3 times now, my aids seem to focus on tire noise to detriment of everything else. Turning the aids off and on again helped resume expected behavior.
In each of these situations I tried cycling through all my programs (Automatic, Noise/Party, Television, Live Music, Listening to Music, Outdoor/Traffic) to no avail. I have already been to Costco once where they “turned down the soft sounds.” which improved things a tiny bit, but now I struggle with my wife and daughters voices even more than before (each are very soft spoken). Not a livable trade-off.
Note: this is my fourth pair of aids coming from Phonak Audeo Marvel are retired due to not being able to hold a charge for very long and needing some service.
Maybe I could have described my issues better to the Costco hearing aid specialist/audi. What tuning should I request during my next visit? Should I consider other aids?
Thanks in advance
