Oticon Companion was released this week (for me in Australia).
On my iPhone 16 it now consumes 20-40% of my battery in 14 hours of usage per day with my Oticon More 3 hearing aids.
The previous version consumed less than 5% per day.
Oticon Supports are investigating, I am waiting in anticipation of a solution.

I have an Android phone, so I’m still running the older version 1.5.2 of com.oticon.app, which doesn’t get much “battery blame” on my phone. After a full day:
It sounds like a regression with 1.6.0. I’m sure Oticon will investigate and fix it.
I don’t use the app that much. I typically stick with my basic program and no volume adjustment. Since the app is not needed for your hearing aids to work, is there a way to “kill” the app? If so that might be a good short-term workaround.

there a setting stay connected, untick that and close the app after adjusting a setting.
that results in 10sec wait time next time you open it.

I use the app to keep an eye on my hearing aid battery levels over the day.
It is also a good visual check on which program I am runn8ng
And of course “Find my hearing aid” only works if the app was running when you misplaced one or both hearing aids.

If you’re running IOS, it’s way more efficient to use there ‘treble tap’ menu to monitor and adjust your MFI aids - unless you REALLY need the stuff on companion, I wouldn’t even install it.

1.6.1 still drains my battery when the hearing aids are connected.
It does not drain overnight when my aids are recharging.

who says they are draining? did you untick stay connected in the app? do you close the app after making adjustments?

I’m not sure what you are talking about “Stay connected”
I can’t find that setting within the iOS app or under Apps in Settings.
By the way, Settings Battery shows me that on a typical day the app consumed 34% of my battery with 1minute screen time and 13hr 57m background time.
I want the app connected to my hearing aids all the time so that “Find my hearing aids” works.
V1.5.x did not consume battery like this.

this is andriod, when I’m in program 1, I tip hearing system in the bottom middle, go to hearing systems settings and then go to the bottom there keep connection off.
also if I swipe the app away there’s no connection to my phone.

The oticon app was draining my battery - but it was the “find my hearing aids”, so I turned that off and its fine. I have complained to Oticon.

I have not tried turning off “Find My Hearing Aids” but it makes sense that hitting location services too hard would consume phone battery.
Clearly something in the app’s use of location services changed between v1.5.x and 1.6
Unfortunately Find My is my main reason for wanting to keep the app running.

If you go into the oticon app then hearing aids, there should be an option “Find my hearing aids”.
Below is my battery health with location allowed. See the precipitous decline. When it went red, I switched off location and recharged, then it’s flat as it should be. Oticon seem disinterested.
