Phonak Sphere P receiver cable lengh question

Just received and programmed a pair of Phonak Infinio Sphere I90s, and requested P receivers due to significant hearing loss at 4k and 6k in one ear. The P receivers are significantly longer than the M receivers, and as a result the same cable length on the P receivers seems to hold the ’s higher behind my ear than M receivers. Does anyone have experience with the P receivers and noticed this? Do peopIe generally need to order longer cables if using a P receiver?

Receivers are numbered for the actual length, this shouldn’t be a “considerable” difference tho, longer length would put the further behind not up higher?

I have a P in one ear and an M in the other. In my case both are 3 wire and exactly the same length and the aids set the same on both ears. The P does not fit quite as far into the ear because it is larger but the difference in hearing aid position is not discernible.

I have not even considered using different receivers in each ear, and will give that a try. As you mention, the P receiver, due to its additional length, does not fit as deeply in the ear so the cable starts further out, away from the ear, and so tends to pull the ’s up, acting as if the cable was shorter. It is hard to explain and seems counter intuitive, but having just now tried an M in one ear and a P in the other, the HA with the P receiver does sit slightly higher behind the ear than the M. So I may need to order size 2 for the ear with the P receiver and stick with a 1 for the M. I hope Target will not freak out when I enter those details!

No problem there, lots of people have different hearing losses in each ear and use different power receiver.
