My own two-cents’ worth here … Definitely trial BOTH if you are able to. Sometimes our brains get comfortable with a particular brand. For me it’s now Phonak after many years of use. This may be based on our level of hearing loss, our lifestyle and how we want our world to sound.
I’m not at all familiar with Widex accessories, but the Phonak has a small, portable mic that can be used as TV streamer, placed on a table at the restaurant, or a desktop at work for speakerphone calls. On top of which, if you stream phone calls to your hearing aids, the Classic Bluetooth on Phonaks (which I believe even the Sphere taps into for AUDIO) is unparallelled for speech discrimination. I have family members asking ME to do call center Tech or Customer support calls for them cuz I can understand ANY KINDA ACCENT tossed my way on the phone: Asian, Island, you-name-it.
