Perhaps YOMWV, but with my hearing loss, the Phonak Lumity Life rechargeables gave me about 14 hrs a day reliably. Yeah, NOT enough. That is one reason why I switched to the newer 312-battery in this model. Now those give me almost 5 full days’ worth of use!!
If you like to live off the grid like me (camping for 3 weeks, on a 3-masted ship middle of nowhere 2 weeks) you’ll come to appreciate a pair of battery aids. Even if they are just “backups”. Cuz in the past year alone, I’ve spent maybe 5+ weeks with NO place to plug in a charger reliably. Power outtages, wide open fields, mountaineeing base camp. NOPE! Not gonna get your little rechargeables up and running at 4am, going straight till 11:30pm.

I have started a new journal to handle the data I plan on keeping. My feels about the Spheres, and Roger ON as well as comparison between the Spheres and the INTENT1. As well as the comparison of the Oticon TV adapter, connect clip, and EDUMIC to the Roger ON. But don’t expect much until I have had time for a test drive and road trip of the Spheres and Roger ON.

I do wish the sphere had a battery option but it is what it is. I have a portable battery that holds 20000 MA so that should charge them for a while.

Ye I see that. Does anyone happen to know the MA of the battery in the hearing aids themselves? are the sphere sperior to the previous model? I ask because i have mainly used Widex and I would say the moments are better than the evoke but still have the same bluetooth connection issues.

@cvkemp - I hope you will give us your full report on the Spheres!
IN other news, though - my non-Sphere Phonak Audeo Infinio I90 plus and TV connector will be at my audiologist’s office by End of Week. But my titanium cShell ear mold is delayed due to production materials issues I just found out today? Oh joy.
So I can’t actually pick up my new aids until Christmas week. That’s okay. I took vacation time to take that entire week off.
What’s another 2 weeks after waiting around 4 weeks for next Thursday when I was originally scheduled to pick up my new aids? At least it’s not 9 weeks like @Neville…. ![]()

Wow, I can so relate! When our needs get more complicated, Fate will crook her finger, and then the calendar goes to HE!! in a handbasket. Fingers crossed ALL works out for you that fateful Xmas week.

Roger ON IN V2 mic cost me $2000 but can only be licensed to ONE pair of aids.
Sorry @1Bluejay . This isn’t strictly true. Roger On iN (v1 or v2). Can issue licenses to up to 10 pairs of Phonak hearing aids. The device just needs refreshing in the “Roger Upgrader” software, to enable another pair of licenses. Yes, v3 has unlimited licenses.

Ack, thanks so much for letting me know this PeterH! I feel like a total donkey, cuz the Phonak rep in with my audi 2 yrs ago emphasized the erroneous info that EACH $2K license was good for only ONE pair of aids. The fact that I got my 2 pairs of aids cross-licensed with my 2 Roger mics seemed to be like putting a man on the moon at that appointment. No one said that my V2s could’ve had up to 10 pairs of Phonaks licensed.
And then there were the copious posts here about how to REMOVE and then REINSTALL the license from one Roger + aids to another pair of aids. That was no simple process for me either, as I managed to stab my mic to death using the pin-push on the back side of it.
Well, I’ve got the 2 mics now, and all I have to do is literally reboot my aids with the mic in-hand if I want to change out my 2 pairs of aids with the mic. If I don’t do that, the aids don’t stream and the mic displays the dreaded “?” mark. If I go through the rigamarole, I get the check-mark, which is also confusing, cuz if these 2 mics were cross-licensed to my 2 pairs of aids, swapping them out should be easy-breezy.
Needlessly confusing and unreliable.

It’s enough to make me want to crawl into a bomb shelter.
For the most part, they’re not all they’re cracked up to be.

for those that have the phonak how is the battery life, after say a year will it hold a charge for a day or not?
@JordanK confirmed that he hasn’t seen any noticeable degradation after a year; and based on how other modern gadgets work, I would expect battery life to hold up quite well for at least that long. I’d be a little more concerned about the third year, especially towards the end of it. OTOH it seems like the Spheres, especially after the Ultra upgrade, have enough battery capacity to allow for some degradation and still not have a problem.

To be fair, this isn’t your fault. Ringing the manufacturer should be the best place to go. However, in my time here, ringing Phonak would be the last place I’d go. This forum is the first place I’d go.
What you get in this forum, is self programmers that use the software, in more detail, and customise it for their personal needs. Phonak Tech support might not even wear hearing aids, and certainly won’t understand all the problems an individual is suffering with their aids, especially with the “Program options” part of the software.
I have to say, The Sphere/Ultras sound tempting, but only if a sub £500 ($650) pair come up on Ebay.

Does anyone hear have the starkey hearing aids, the ai edge or whatever it is, is Phonak better at speech in complex situations? I ask because starkey claims that it has 51 hours of battery on a single charge, sounds a little too good to be true. Your thoughts?

Nikosman, I was just in to see my audi on Friday, and she confirms that UN-BELIEVABLE battery life that her customers are getting from the new Starkeys. They are not the “also-ran” company they used to be. Her customers are HAPPY with Starkey!
We couldn’t help but to compare the relatively LAME performance of Phonak rechargeables. That is the main reason why, 2.5 yrs ago, I had to buy a redundant SECOND pair of Phonak Lumity Life aids. It’s cuz I was only getting 14 hrs of use per day - and that wasn’t even with a lot of streaming!! I would never have made it on a transatlantic journey without my aids DYING on me (oh, I coulda brought the yada yada of portable chargers and blah blah).
The Spheres and newer Phonaks may deliver better rechargeable life, and granted YOMVY depending on your hearing power needs and activities like streaming.

Thanks for the info. My specific hearing aid needs as one with severe hearing loss; are, ability to provide speech clarity and loud or complex situations, good directionality, reliable streaming to phones and alike, hands free calling preferred. Widex claims the allure can do this but I’d like to try another brand.

I have had Starkey Genesis with Edge aids with for 2 years. While they are an improvement over my previous aids, I still can’t hear well I’m noisy environments even on the Edge mode. Also I attended a live theater show this weekend and could only make out half of the words. My Audi at the has been trying to get me to move to the Phonak Spheres and after doing research and the comments from wearers on these forums I intend to go for it! I will say that the Starkey TV connector and iPhone ap are excellent. Hope this helps.

I forgot to ad that the Starkey aids will last a full day on charge and I do a fair amount of streaming. But Phonak claims the Spheres are good for 56 hours.
