I recently had the Phonak Infinio 90 Bicros unit but ended up returning them. I couldn’t use them in restaurants, loud places or empty houses that would echo. I had to take them out to hear the person that was right in front of me. I did a bunch of research and figured out what the issue was and that all Bicros hearing aids have the same issue. If the cros unit doesn’t have the same technology as the non-cros unit for your ear that works, it will drown out the technology of the non bicros unit to the point of making them useless when in the environments listed above. I tried reaching Phonak which was a complete joke and went back and forth with them about it to the point that they would just gas light me. I also reached out to Starkey and all they would say is “Try it you’ll like it”. When I got to someone at Oticon, the Audiologist put an engineer on the phone with us and when I explained the situation. He said that the Oticon cros had a 6db mute available but it would not help. When I explained the whole situation above, he got it and said that this is a design flaw. What they need to do is sell you to full featured hearing aids (not a cros) and do a full program on both of them based on your needs are and then send the signal over to the functioning ear. . There is no way that the functioning hearing aid can process the cros sinfo for sound because it has no ideal where the sound is coming from. I really hope they figure this out soon
