Hi all, very happy new year to everyone.

I have recently purchased a pair of signia contrast sp+ off ebay. I once wore a pair of aids years ago and absolutely hated them. My right ear hears all it needs to, obviously the left ear is decoration only at this point. I’ve got custom earmolds on the way and once they arrive, I will see what I think.

As you’ll see in my , my loss is quite unique, making it difficult for traditional shops to deal with, and a significant portion of it is conductive, which is not amenable to surgery at this time.

On to my question, which is regarding self programming. Has anyone ever programmed these Signia aids? (they are an older model, the new ones are awful). I would not be doing it immediately, as I want to see what the program itself has prescribed to me, but at some point I’d like to fiddle with a new program for live music. Do I need a hipro, a noahlink, or both?

Welcome to the forum @GripK ok so these are NHS , issued back in 2018 so it’s possible they need a “code” to “unlock” them for programming, they use Connexx 8 software and connexxAir programming device.

Hi tenkan, they were never used by the NHS so they’ve not been locked, I made sure of that before purchase, and they are coming to me programmed as well. Can I use a noahlink instead or must it be the connexxair?

Oh that’s good news then, yeah if you confirmed that then you’ll be able to use connexxAir and Signia Connexx 8, unfortunately the Noahlink wireless is only for with ( Bluetooth) so HiPro with cables is another possibility but still hard to find for cheap nowadays.

Fair enough, I’ve just ordered the easytek bluetooth connector thing to go with, will see how it all pans out. I’ve sort of heard that once you find a brand you like, particularly siemens signia, that once you change it, you don’t like it as much.

All up to the individual really, I’ve bounced between all the major brands over the years and have settled on ReSound and Signia for my daily drivers.
