OTH, what do they do with the HAs you buy and return for a $300 restocking fee after your trial? Throw them away?
Sell them on ebay. Pretty sure that’s where mine came from!

I recently paid about $1700 for “slightly used” Spheres. There are lots of listings for new ones in the $2200 range. A few years ago, I paid about $1800 for L90s. They still work great - I only upgraded because of the speech in noise advances. So I guess that’s around Costco level, except Costco didn’t get the Sonite R (equivalent to the Lumity) until over a year after I bought the L90s, and won’t have the Sphere any time soon, if ever. I just looked, and L90s on eBay are now down to around $700. By the time the tech hits Costco, it’s available elsewhere for lower than Costco prices.
Somewhere in there I also bought a pair of Marvels to experiment on for about $300. They seem to work fine, though I never did much with them. They’re better than anything “new” someone could get in that range, so this is a decent option for someone tech-savvy and budget-conscious.
I’ve also picked up a few Roger Ons for $200 or below. I unfortunately lost one and washed another, which isn’t great, but would be a much bigger problem if I’d paid retail. Oh, and a couple TV connectors for $100 each.

I wonder how does the running and warranty works on those slightly used? Are you on your own after purchase?

I’ve never tried to do anything like that myself. Most listings say that Phonak’s warranty still applies. But if they’re used, the warranty would run from the date the prior owner purchased them new, so you may not know the exact dates until you connect it to Target. (You could probably ask the seller, I just never did.) My understanding is that Phonak won’t deal with end users directly, so you’d have to go through a provider to do anything under the warranty. Finding one willing to do that might be difficult, but I think some on here have done it.
There are some sellers that say Phonak’s warranty doesn’t apply. I have my theories about why that might be, but I don’t know. Of that group, the ones selling new aids usually offer their own warranty (obviously there’s a caveat emptor element to that). I bought one pair from a seller that said Phonak’s warranty didn’t apply, but when I connected them to Target it said they were still under warranty. Not sure what would happen if I tried to do anything with it. I’ve never had a hardware issue with any of them, so it’s never come up.

My experience is that Phonak don’t - or can’t - deal with end consumers.
My Roger On v1 recently had an issue with the central button. An email enquiry to Phonak UK redirected me to the retailer - Connevans- who handled payment (out of warranty and paid by my employer who bought it for me - a repair was more palatable than a new V3 model). In short, I don’t think Phonak are set up to do direct arrangements with Joe/Joanna Public, I guess it would add costs and complexity to their operations.
As it was, my Roger returned with a functional button but a crocked display. It went back for further (free!) repair and now looks as good as new.

I’m very happy with them, Josh did a great job getting them close enough to what I prefer to hear! I will be learning to self program in the near future though, as i have an audio engineering background (not pro, but doing it for quite a long time and I know my way around frequencies) and I feel I can really dial these in much more to my liking if I have control over how they’re programmed. Noah link on the way

I think it was something in the order of £150 for the first round of work. Not that I paid - my employer picked up the bill. Seeing as something went wrong with the screen, Phonak and/or Connevans picked up the tab…
