How many people here are using T-coil + Loop systems in churches or public venues?

Yes, we are a vendor — but also genuinely trying to understand what works best for users in real venues. I’m also single-sided deaf myself, so I’m personally very interested in these solutions.

Loop systems are simple and well established — they’ve been around for nearly a century. seems to be emerging as a new standard, and we’re trying to build tools that help users — including existing loop / users — transition smoothly to the new technology.

I have Costco KS8 hearing aids with a Telecoil. I got the Telecoil version on the advice of people here who advised that it came with a bigger battery. The Costco fitter confirmed that so I went for it. The sound quality at my sister’s church was very good with only a small level of 60 Hz hum.

I am planning on upgrading to new hearing aids sometime this year. will be a requirement. I’m also comparing Auracast transmitters as I plan to outfit my church with one.

Jabra-ReSound = with this brand, mostly the is located in the separate Multi-Mic which is an extra purchase. As have gotten tinier and tinier, the space for T-coils disappears, as well as the fact that loops are not widely installed in the US. The region in which you live may not have widely adopted T-coils when they were popular, about 10 years ago. Here in the Calif. Bay Area they are uncommon, except in a few churches, some libraries, and some schools. I have yet to try , tho’ my Jabras support it, I believe.

I hooked up an IEM system is my previous church, and then provide a receiver and a neck loop for people that wanted to use it for their Hearing Aids. Of several hundred attendees, only two had loop capable ’s.

I setup in my current church, but i only know of one attendee that has Auracst capable hearing aids. Perhaps others use it too, but I am only aware of one.

Maybe you need to publicize to them that MAY be available in their . Since the opportunity to use it is so slight, I think many audies don’t bother to mention it to patrons, and users don’t read the fine print about their HAs. My 2-year-old Jabra EP10s have it, but I haven’t encountered a place to try it.

Have Phonak Auedo 90. Have installed. Did use but have found using the Automatic setting on my ’s work good enough IF the folks speaking at church know how to use the microphone. So many folks do not adjust microphone up to their month and microphone does not pick up voice. Nothing one can do about that problem. So yes, have used, but most of time use automatic setting.
