Signia Pure c&g 7IX bad sound when streaming

Any Signia Pure c&g T7lX users here? I have a pair to try out, and I like them for their main purpose, but streaming speech and music from my mobile phone sounds really bad. Very thin and metallic, and almost impossible to listen to, especially with increasing volume. There is also some nonsense with the app. (sound only on one device, unstable if I have used AirPods first, ++)
Compared to ReSound on these points, it is like listening to sound transmitted between two tin cans with a wire in between…
Anyone with better experiences? Do I have a Monday product, or can there be settings that an audiologist can make?

Yes definitely get them to make further adjustments, make sure you check in the office before leaving,next download PowerAmp for music streaming, you don’t post your audogram but if your using open domes this can also be an issue, especially for Bass.

Agree that open molds leak sound but the quality of sound in streaming is fine. If I really want to use them that way, I put cotton balls in my ears (don’t laugh, it works). If its quiet, I can hear fine as well. Just agreeing with previous post on all points.

Thanks for the response; Yes, I understand I must contact the audiologist. It cannot be possible that Signa hearing aid should sound so bad compared to a hearing aid in the same price range. It otherwise provides good sound from the surroundings.

I had the same issue with the Rexton Reach (a twin of the 7IX). I tried fixing the issue with the programming software . Neither my fitter nor I were able to improve the sound and the connectivity (streaming was impossible with the phone in my pocket) .

I returned mine .

I had the same problem. I searched the Internet and found the streaming offset settings. I tried to explain that to my audiologist. She was nice but did not get it, what do I know, I’m just the patient…. After multiple attempts, screenshots, even showing her in the app, she did not get it. I purchased the Connexx software and the Noahlink programmer. I had asked for my config file. She said she could not give it to me. I found the Connexx software will read the hearing aids and pull in the settings. I made the changes for streaming offset and handsfree for phone calls. Wow, what a difference. I also tried several domes until I found the right balance. I do not get the deep bass, but I can hear the bass guitar line (or maybe the 2nd or 3rd harmonic of the bass). I can share details if interested. I may loan my software and Noahlink if you are near central Alabama.

Signia needs to train the audiologist better on the fitting software! I spent $250 just so I could make those streaming corrections.

On a related note, I purchased Soundcore Q30 over the ear headphones. You can configure an 8-band EQ in the headphones/app. I use them over my hearing aids. The combination gives me the best music sound I have heard in years.

I have the Signia Pure C&G 7IX aids. I have absolutely no problem. They sound great when I use them for a phone call or streaming. I have an iphone. I have my aids set for instead of BlueTooth. Got my aids in November and no problems with connection or audio. With my old aids (Phonak), I was constantly fighting connection and and streaming problems with the Bluetooth. That may be your issue. I am pretty certain the aids (app) can be set either for MFi or Bluetooth.

This doesn’t make sense.

is a licensing program that includes a protocol for sending audio and communicate with the using Bluetooth Low Energy. If there is no bluetooth, there is no connection between the aids and the phone. You can test this by turning off the bluetooth function of the phone in the IOS control center (there will be no connection between your phone and the aids).

Did not know that. I assumed the was a proprietary protocol utilized my Apple. I did not know it used Bluetooth. I know the settings on my iphone say for MFi Hearing Devices. When I had the Phonak aids that used the Bluetooth settings and pairing, I had a lot of trouble. It was never resolved even though their were updates to Bluetooth, the Phonak App, and Apple IOS. With the Signia aids and the MFi, I have had no problem whatsoever.

Makes sense, Apple did a good job with MFI and integrating the hearing aid functions in IOS.

LE was not originally intended for audio so, at the beggining, companies had to develop their own way of communicating phones with the aids (all those $$$$ propietary accessories)
Later Apple created for HAs, which is a “something (I don’t want to get technical)” that can send audio via Bluetooth LE. did the same with Android. It’s almost like a workaround for the limitations of BT LE.

But now we have BT , a standard that allows sound to travel though bluetooth low energy.

When I had the Phonaks, the only thing I could do was the Bluetooth pairing. Terrible. Apparently my aids had the old technology. When I got the new Signias, I couldn’t believe the difference. I haven’t had the first problem with phone calls, streaming, etc. Guess I don’t understand what the difference is between Bluetooth and the Bluetooth LE, but then I don’t care as long as it works. I also have the Signia Pure C&G 7IX aids and have no problems connecting to or staying connected to my old Pixel 3 or my Fire tablets. The rechargeables are never below 50% at the end of the day.

Saw your post and it’s almost identical to mine today:

wear a Signia that I purchased to replace my Oticon that I found didn’t allow me to increase the volume sufficiently in view of my being deaf in right ear with 70% loss in left ear in which I wear the aide. While the Signia does allow me to sufficiently for Bluetooth music streaming, I am plagued by high pitched pops that do not occur with the Oticon aide.

Anyone else experiencing this and is there a fix?

I have a pair of C&G 7IX with a cros and also a set of Phonax Lumity. The C&G are great for all day use with the iPhone and Apple Play on my 2025 Ford Maverick. They are great for phone calls on my iPhone and listening to music in the truck. They stay connect and music sounds great.

The Phonax Lumity I use all night while the C&G 7IX are charging. They don't connect to my iPhone because the iPhone will only take one pairing at a time but they are great for watching TV alone. They connect to my TV by Bluetooth and I can watch without disturbing anyone else. All the sound comes through my HAs so no one can hear the TV. The TV is a 2 year Vizio smart tv.

i’ve seen others report similar issues with the pure c&g 7ix, so it may not be a faulty pair. it’s worth asking your audiologist to check the streaming offset and fine-tune the streaming frequencies, as signia says these settings can significantly affect the sound. also try the balance control in the signia app while streaming.
