My Advantage insurance requires 4 years to elapse before it will pay for new aids. My (Audicus) Spirits are now almost 3.5 years old. They are “just o.k.”, and have served me fairly well. But I’ve noticed that in a room meeting where there are 4 or 5 persons at a table, I have trouble with voices being clear.
So, what is your advice for me? It will be late November of this year before I am able to get new aids. (insurance will pay $1200 toward them). I called the company yesterday, and they have agreed to send me a list of companies that support their claims.
The question I have is: If my aids were to need repairing before Nov., then should I pay the price for that, or should I just buy “cheap, otc aids” that will be good for, say a year, until I find the high tech ones that work well for me for another 4-year period?
