@Ranson Sounds good – will see if any of the power banks I have have this mode. I usually use one-to-one mode on my FMA120, but switching to worked perfectly—it auto-connects just like the one-to-one mode and just like you describe on the FMA121. Very nice!
If a one-to-one setup works for your application, it’s best to stick with that.
For broadcast use, keep in mind that short passcodes (e.g., 4 digits) can be brute-forced in just a few hours, even with simple methods. Even 6-digit codes can be cracked within several days if they aren’t changed regularly.
Because of this, using a personal transmitter with a fixed passcode isn’t recommended. If you do use one, make sure to change the passcode frequently and don’t reuse passwords from anything important.
The FlooGoo feature is meant for occasional audio sharing and avoids the need to use a phone to enter a passcode. For the reasons above, it’s not ideal for setups like TVs where the password is unlikely to be updated regularly.
If occasional nearby listening isn’t a concern, it’s actually better to leave the broadcast open than to use a reused password that never gets changed.
Thanks for the additional information. I prefer the one-to-one typically as it provides access to the hearing aid microphone.
Not sure which setup ( vs 1:1) would be easier for a audio tour. Would probably be nice to be able to access the Hearlink 2 app on the phone so I can easily turn the volume down on external sounds if need be. I can test that out at some point to see what I feel like works best . Not too worried about passwords on Auacast for an audio tour, but see your point in a stationary setup.
@Ranson Sorry for the misunderstanding about the FMA 121. I didn’t realize it uses this approach to reconnect hearing aids to automatically. That’s very user-friendly.
